Journal Yourself Stressfree 5

In the last email in the Journal Yourself Stressfree series, we talked about how we can use our 5 senses to dramatically reduce our stress levels.

In my opinion though, the MOST powerful stress-reducing activity is expressing gratitude. Incorporating gratitude practices into your daily life, such as keeping a gratitude journal or expressing thanks to others, can contribute to a more resilient and stress-resistant mindset. Focusing on what you are thankful for can help reframe challenging situations, reducing their perceived impact on your stress levels.

I list 3 things that I am grateful for in my gratitude journal – mornings and evenings – this habit has completely changed my life. I am so convinced that the more you express your gratitude, the more you attract to be grateful for, that I wrote a whole book about it: FearLess – Embracing Change.

Quote

Quotes can help us gain new insights and perspectives that can enrich our gratitude practice, ex. “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, and confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.” Melody Beattie:

I have collected some of the most powerful gratitude quotes and affirmations in a free PDF called Stress-dissolving Gratitude Affirmations to Inspire, Enable and Empower You to live a Rewarding, Meaningful and Fulfilling Life that you can download on my website’s Free Resources page. You can copy your favourite one(s) in your journal.

Affirmation

Today’s affirmation is: “In challenging moments, I make a list of 10 people/skills/possessions that I appreciate having in my life. I am thankful for the resilience within me, and I trust that difficulties are opportunities that can instigate an empowering transformation.”

Prompt

Reflect on three people that you are grateful to have or have had in your life. Describe the unique qualities and contributions of each person. How have they influenced your life, whether through encouragement, assistance, or support?

Write a short, heartfelt message of gratitude to each person. Share your appreciation for their presence in your life, acknowledging the specific qualities or actions that you value.

Consider how you can continue to nurture and appreciate these relationships in the future. Are there actions you can take to strengthen these connections or express your gratitude more consistently?

Wishing you a stress-free day!
