Before you set off (or perhaps while you’re en route, I’d love for you to take a moment to read these two pages:

A quick read beforehand will give you a sense of what’s in store and gently ease you into retreat mode.
You can find the full packing list here. Think of it as a gentle suggestion rather than a strict directive, although everything on the list is there for a very specific reason. The one non-negotiable? Well-worn water (and mud!) proof walking boots or shoes.
Although you won’t have anything directly to do with them, please take a few minutes to read my Safety Procedures Around Horses page. Even if you’re an experienced equine enthusiast, it’s important that everyone’s on the same page — the horses included.
Also, could you kindly send me your travel details when you get a moment? Especially if you’ll be needing a lift from Nogaro — I’ll pop on my chauffeur’s hat and come collect you.
One last thing — do let me know if you have any food allergies, intolerances, or aversions (no judgment — I, too, have a complicated relationship with Brussels sprouts).
I can’t wait to see you on the first day of your retreat, at 18h00, when the gate will be unlocked.
