Weight Loss Affirmations

Are you tired of trying one diet after another only to regain all the weight you lost the moment you stop the diet? If you answered “YES!!” then weight loss affirmations can help you attain and maintain your ideal weight and still enjoy the foods you love.

During my Detox Your Body and Mind with Intermittent Fasting Weight Loss Retreats here in the south of France, we look at the power of affirmations to help us change our eating habits. Below you will find a list of our most popular weight loss affirmations.

You can also create your own affirmations (more info in Embracing Change – in 10 minutes a Day) as long as you make them realistic and believeable. If you look in the mirror and tell yourself “I am fit and healthy,” when you clearly are not, you are wasting your time. More effective would be “I am getting fitter and healthier each day.”

Weight Loss Affirmations

I am taking responsibility for my health. I am fully committed to losing the extra weight and reaching my goal weight. I am committed to creating the body I have always wanted.

I choose healthy foods, in healthy amounts, and I eat at a healthy time of day. I am constantly developing and maintaining healthier eating habits. Everything I eat nourishes and strengthens me because I eat only healthy, nourishing food. I now have a healthy relationship with food.

I deserve to have a lean, healthy, and attractive body. I deserve to feel confident and proud of my body.

I believe in myself. I can lose weight. I will lose weight. I have the potential to make positive changes in my life. I can change habits that no longer serve me. I believe in my ability to lose weight and keep it off.

I’m grateful for the people who help me achieve my weight loss, exercise and healthy eating goals. I choose to spend time with the people who believe in me and who support me. I thank them regularly for their input and celebrate my victories with them.

Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

I choose to exercise. Exercising makes me feel good. It makes me stronger and healthier. I love exercising daily as it helps me lose weight. I am grateful that I can exercise.

I respect my body. I trust my body. I am kind to my body. I nourish my body with the best food I can afford. I am patient with my body. I listen to my body. I compassionately care for it, making sure it gets the food, exercise and sleep it needs. I let go of the need to criticize my body.

I can resist temptation. I am in control of my cravings. I no longer deny myself what I crave, I wait until I can eat it in my eating window. I no longer cheat, I just delay eating what I want until my window is open. I no longer feel guilty about eating. My desire for unhealthy foods is diminishing daily.

Losing weight makes me feel more confident and comfortable in my own skin.

I am unique and do not feel the need to compare myself to others.

There is no need to overeat; I can manage my emotions in healthier ways. I no longer eat for comfort, but for health, happiness and vitality. I trust myself to make the right choices.

I eat slowly. I eat mindfully, using all 5 of my senses to fully appreciate the food I eat. I always chew my food properly so that my body can digest it and take out the nutrients I need to lose weight.

No matter what happened yesterday, I wake up each morning determined to reach my ideal weight. Every day is a new beginning. I release all guilt I feel about yesterday’s unhealthy choices. I forgive myself for my past weight loss failures.

When I look in the mirror, I see progress.

I daily visualize my body at its optimal weight. I visualise accepting compliments on how much fitter and healthier I look. I visualise going to a restaurant/friend’s for dinner and sticking to my resolutions. I visualise buying clothes in a smaller size etc.

I am becoming an inspiration for others.

Losing weight, getting fitter and healthier can be a challenge both physically and mentally. Weight loss affirmations can provide encouragement and motivation in your weight loss journey as you work to become the best version of yourself.
