Welcome to Day 3 of the From Stress to Serenity with Gratitude and Generosity e-Course!

Today, on Day 3, I would like to take the opportunity to remind you WHY you are keeping a gratitude journal. It is because journaling gratefully:

  • Makes you happier
  • Increases your self-esteem
  • Reduces stress
  • Helps you sleep better

And as if these scientifically proven benefits are not enough, anecdotally, keeping a gratitude journal also

  • Enables you to discover what is important to you and what is not. It helps you focus on what matters to you.
  • Helps you decide what you want more of in your life, and what you want to cut out of your life.
  • Makes you more self-aware and helps you to understand yourself better
  • Allows you, when you feel low, to look back through your diary and remind yourself of all you have that you appreciate.

Now that you are thoroughly re-motivated, start today’s practice by anchoring yourself in the moment as described on Day 1, take a few deep breaths and observe the photo above carefully. What do you see and how does that make you feel? Copy the two quotes and the affirmation below onto your worksheet, then respond to the gratitude and generosity (call to action) prompt.

Today’s 2 Quotes

Gratitude Quote

“Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.” – Zig Ziglar

Generosity Quote

“Constant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate.” – Albert Schweitzer

Gratitude Prompt

Today, make a list of the 5 books that you are most grateful that you have read.

Call to Action

Today, why not pass on a book that you have read to a friend who you think will also enjoy the book? Or donate the books you have read to a charity. Or leave a book behind on a train. Leave a newspaper behind in a coffee shop. Give your old magazines to a doctor or dentist to put in their waiting room.

Daily Affirmation

Your gratitude practice ends today, and every day of this course, with an affirmation.

I am unique. I deserve to be happy and loved for no other reason than because I exist.

Bravo! You have completed day 3 of this e-retreat.
